IN ONE PARAGRAPH

Elbows Up!! is a free, satirical 8-bit boxing game. Prime Minister Mark Carney fights his way through Donald Trump's Cabinet, the West Wing and a division of billionaires to Trump himself, and then to King Trump's throne. Every opponent is a pattern to learn, every special move is built on a real headline, and the whole thing plays in a browser, on a computer or a phone, in English or French. Play it at elbowsup.games.

THE GAME

Elbows Up!! plays like the timing-based boxing games of the late 1980s: read the wind-up, dodge or duck, then counter while he's open. Sixteen opponents come in a warm-up and three circuits, each with a special move of his own. Howard Lutnick spins a wheel for his tariff rate. Pete Hegseth's group chat gives away which side his punch comes from. RFK Jr. forgets his haymaker when the worm in his brain peeks out. Marco Rubio's hat tells you which of his jobs he's doing today. Elon Musk takes up one of his companies for every move, from the rocket to the flamethrower that isn't one. And Mark Zuckerberg's warnings are blocked in Canada.

The title fight is Trump himself. Then he's crowned, and King Trump waits at the end of the Trillionweight Division, in a golden ballroom that crumbles as he's beaten. There's a secret or two past him, which we'd rather players found for themselves.

Along the way, Carney earns golden maple leaves. Spend one, two or all three at once on the Elbows Up punch, and more of Canada answers: a V of Canada geese, then a bull moose, then the northern lights, a wolf, a black bear and the beaver from his corner.

FEATURES

- Sixteen opponents, each with a special move, taunts (some in his own words) and a secret one-punch knockdown to find.
- The call of the wild: golden maple leaves, and Canada's wildlife answering.
- Two bonus stages: LAST CALL, clearing the American bottles off a liquor store's shelf (Ontario's premier, Doug Ford, may drop in), and THE GOLD PHONE, smashing Trump's $499 gold phone while its shipping date slips across its screen.
- A daily challenge: one fight a day with a twist, the same for everyone, with a streak to keep and a result to share.
- Weekly missions: seats in the House of Commons, from backbencher to prime minister, and new rings to fight in.
- The Second Term: the whole ladder again, quicker and meaner.
- Wins to share: a newspaper front page, an instant replay as a GIF, and a vertical knockout clip for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
- Passwords, 8-bit style, to carry your progress from one browser or phone to another.
- Plays on a TV by screen mirroring, with a delay setting that keeps the timing fair.
- A training dummy that teaches every move with your own keys and buttons.
- English and Canadian French, throughout.

ACCESSIBILITY

Built to be played by as many people as possible:
- Screen reader support: menus, fights and results are read out.
- Game speed at 100, 85 or 70 percent.
- Hold a button to get up after a knockdown, instead of mashing it.
- Touch buttons on either side, for a left or a right thumb.
- Screen shake and flashes can be turned off, and start off on devices set to reduce motion.
- Every key and controller button can be changed.
- New players start on Easy.

STREAMS AND VIDEOS

Stream it, clip it, post it: videos of Elbows Up!! are welcome. Turn on STREAMER MODE in Options first. The game then plays only its own original chiptunes, in place of its licensed soundtrack.
